During the course of my formative years my somewhat overprotective mother had kept me rather ‘shielded’ in my parental home (for example, doing most domestic duties and chores that I simply didn’t care about and/or wasn’t allowed to do) and as a result I made a few choices in my early adult life such as remaining at home for my undergraduate university studies rather than living out independently from age 18+ and getting too settled in at her home before I would eventually move out fairly late at age 35 to live on my own with my wife and subsequent offspring.
